Jesus Christ the Law fulfiller

Over the past couple of years I’ve noticed that there are more and more teachings demanding believers in Christ to keep the laws of Moses. I frequent YouTube quite often and I’ve noticed there has been an outbreak of torah teachers; many of these teachers call themselves black Hebrew Israelites

Many black Hebrew Israelites claim that we are to keep the laws that were given to Moses in order to receive salvation, this is absolutely not true. Now some will say then how do we live as believers in Christ?, and what laws do we follow?; the answer is, we are under a new covenant not like the old one, (Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.)

We are under the spirit of the law and not the oldness of the letter. (Rom 7:6) Paul tells us in Romans,

7:6 but now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The the letter of the law was given because of the carnality of man, the children of Israel had to be placed under a school master to remind them to obey Gods law.

Paul tells us that the law was added because of mans wickedness,

Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

The children of Israel were so evil that God had to physically write down what was lawful and unlawful to do, what to eat, what to wear, how to worship God, what to sacrifice unto God, how to treat the fatherless, widows and foreigners, etc..

So what did they do before the law was written down on tables of stone ?, The righteous followed the spirit of the law.

Our beloved father Abraham was here long before Moses and Mount Sian, and he knew the laws and obeyed them. He did not have the tables of stone with the 10 commandments written on them, but the law of God was written on his heart, the bible says,

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

He was obedient to the voice and commandments of God, the law was written on his heart, and he humbled himself unto the Most High.

Now that Christ, the promised seed is here, to whom God told Abraham would come through his seed has restored us back to the spirit of the law.

Being under the spirit of the law means that Christ's commandments are written on our hearts, and we do not need to look at the tables of stone to know right from wrong, God will speak to us and teach us all things. The bible says,

1Jn 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

1Jn 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Here's another scripture that some Hebrew Israelites quote often,

Matthew 5:18 Jesus tells us, For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Many have said that Christ did not fulfill or complete the law, that’s also incorrect, let’s see what does the word fulfill mean,

Webster dictionary FULFILL'ED, pp. Accomplished; performed; completed; executed.

Jesus Christ did not come to throw away the law but he accomplished, performed, completed and executed everything written in the law, that’s why Paul plainly says:

Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursedis every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them

Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Here are a few examples of Christ fulfilling the law,

The Scripture said under the law of Moses-Num 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

Christ the law fulfiller said -Mat 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

The Scripture said under the law of Moses- Deu 19:21 And thine eye shall not pity; but lifeshall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Christ the law fulfiller said - Mat 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Under the Law of Moses the Scripture says, Deu 24:1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

Deu 24:2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

Deu 24:3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to behis wife;

Christ the law fulfiller said, Mat 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Mat 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

Mat 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Mat 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Thank God for Jesus Christ, the law fulfiller, who searches mans’ heart and teaches us his laws, commandments and statues through the holy spirit.
