New Years Resolution: Be Thankful Every Day

Did you thank God this morning for waking you up ? did you thank him for the activities of your limbs ?, did you thank him for food to eat and a place to lay your head at night ?

Sometimes we can get so caught up in all the wrong things in life that we forget to say THANK YOU.
You may not have the car that you want, but the one you have is a blessing to you for right now, you may not live in the house that you desire but the one you have is a blessing to you right now, you may not like the job you have but it has been a blessing to you for right now.

God loves a thankful heart. When Jesus was in Jerusalem he saw 10 lepers who asked to be healed and he healed them, but only one of them returned to thank Jesus,

Luke 17:11
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[b] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Our Thankfulness also shows are faith in God for we know that it is he who provides are needs. I want to specify the word NEED because we may not get what we want when we want it, but Paul said, ..."But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that."  Tim 6:8. Contentment and Thankfulness is having great gain because money and material things will vanish, and Jesus said in Luke 12:15 , “Take heed and beware of covetousness,[a] for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Our life is not about the cars and houses we have, but about us receiving the FREE gift of eternal life, and loving The Most High with all our hearts, minds and soul, obeying his commandments, and loving one another.

So as 2011 closes out, I truly Thank God for providing food, clothing and our beautiful home, I thank him for my Mommy who I adore, I thank him for the joys of my life my nice and nephew, I thank him for my sister, and my family in Philly who I pray for everyday, I thank him for keeping us from harm and danger, I thank him for wisdom and knowledge and learning his word everyday, I thank him for teaching me to not depend on myself or my abilities but to always trust and depend on him, I thank him for saving me from my sins, I thank him for sending his son to suffer the most unimaginable pain so that I may live eternally.
And only Gods knows what's ahead for 2012, but I want to encourage every including myself to Thank God everyday no matter what we are going through, even if you are crying, if you are angry, if you are depressed, if you are confused, perplexed and don't understand.
This may seem like a hard thing to do but press through your emotions left up your voice unto the heavenly father and say THANK YOU, for he will never leave you nor forsake you, AMEN.
